The digital video arts fair last week. I missed all the big name fairs, but liked this little one that was installed in shipping containers on the street. The art was cool, but let's be honest. What I really liked is that the containers were occupying a "parking" space. 

In fact, while I was visiting one of them, this one woman in an SUV got really really indignant that she wasn't allowed to squeeze her car into the space right in front of the container's door (i.e. totally blocking access to the show.) Why do people take if for granted that they should be able to leave their 2 ton piece of metal on public property? People think I'm crazy for being against street parking, but imagine what the streets would be like without cars parked all over them. What if the streets were lined with video art shows all year round. Wow.
