Tonight on This American Life, I learned that Jonnie Cash's version
of "Ring of Fire" with the mariachi trumpets came to him in a dream.
The next day he went into the studio and made the dream real. I'm all
about that. Dreams to Reality.
"I fell into a burning ring of fire." Few lyrics in the song, but so
many readings have been put to June Carter's single sentence.
